Alison Hammond breaks silence on death of This Morning co-star and says 'so sad'

This Morning host Alison Hammond has broken her silence on the news that show regular Michael Mosley has been found dead in Greece. The Brummie TV star said she was "so sad" as tributes flooded in for the health guru.

The "adventurous" TV doctor had been enjoying a holiday on the island of Symi when he vanished on Wednesday, June 5. His heartbroken wife Clare has since revealed he'd taken "the wrong route" after completing an "incredible climb" and had collapsed "where he couldn't be easily seen".

As news of his death broke on Sunday, June 9, the official This Morning account on Instagram posted a tribute to Dr Mosley. A photograph of the star was captioned: "We’re all heartbroken to hear that Michael Mosley has died at the age of 67. Everyone at This Morning is thinking of Clare, their four children and the rest of Michael’s family and friends at this extremely sad time."

Alison, who co-hosts the ITV show every Friday with Dermot O'Leary, responded to the post. She wrote: "So sad for his family."

The Mirror reports Good Morning Britain star Kate Garraway also said: "So sad - thinking of his family." Lisa Snowdon added: "This is utterly heartbreaking."

Other celebrities paying tribute to Dr Mosley include Jamie Oliver, Carol Vorderman and Prof Brian Cox. Ulrika Jonsson also described him as a "lovely, lovely man", adding: "Thinking of his family."
