Manchester United winger Amad has insisted that he is fine after being forced off with an injury against Arsenal on Sunday.

The 21-year-old made his first start in the Premier League this season at Old Trafford this evening as Erik ten Hag looked for a reaction from his depleted squad. Amad certainly did his best to force an impact and felt he should have been awarded a penalty with ten minutes of the half remaining when he was caught by Thomas Partey in the area.

Referee Paul Tierney waved away the appeals but this did not stop Amad from showing his pace on the right-hand side. Unfortunately, his appearance was cut short when on 70 minutes he was forced off with injury.

As he hobbled off the pitch, it was clear Amad was gutted to be coming off and he received a hearty ovation from the home supporters in recognition of his efforts. Taking to Instagram after the game, Amad has now confirmed that the injury which forced him to be subbed for Antony is not as bad as feared.

He wrote: "The knee to knee in the first half bothered me in the second half. Otherwise, I’m fine."

Amad was one of the standout players on what was ultimately another disappointing afternoon for United. Leandro Trossard's close-range strike on 20 minutes was enough to secure a big three points for the Gunners.

Ten Hag's men now face an uphill battle to finish sixth in the Premier League and realistically they must win both of their last two Premier League matches to stand any chance of finishing above Newcastle and Chelsea.
