Amanda Holden is to host a new show about the history of sex.

In a risqué career move, the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge will be exploring sexual taboos in her saucy new show for Sky History, that’s set to air next year.

Amanda will investigate the porn industry and dig deep into history as she unveils Cleopatra’s love of orgies and promiscuity in Roman society – suggesting that the Romans were more sexually liberated than the modern world.

The 51-year-old blonde beauty will also explore how Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe “redefined raunchiness” in the cinema, sex within religion and sex in the Regency era.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “The documentary is packed with facts, information and educational moments but of course Amanda brings her own style to it.

“She got hands on for filming, including dressing up as some of the sex icons such as Marilyn and bringing to life key moments with re-enactments.

“We’re calling it 'Horrible Histories' but for grown-ups.

“This generation thinks it’s at the forefront of sexual exploration but we really know nothing compared to the Romans or even the Regency period.

“Amanda is really passionate about the project.”

Speaking at the 27th National Television Awards earlier in October, Amanda teased she was working on a taboo project that was “slightly controversial”.

She said: “I’ve just started filming a brand new series for Sky, which is going to be a lot of fun and it may be slightly controversial.”
