Amanda Holden admits she and husband have tried and failed to join 'Mile High Club'

Amanda Holden has confessed she and her husband have tried to join the Mile High Club but "never quite made it".

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 50, married record producer Chris Hughes in 2008 and revealed that while they have attempted to copulate on an aeroplane, as a celebrity she has felt she under too much scrutiny

Holden was asked by Alan Carr on his Life's A Beach podcast if she was a member of the Mile High Club, but replied: "Well, we've had a go, but we never quite made it.

"There's too much scrutiny. Everyone's watching. There's no way you can do that."

The actor, TV and radio presenter also revealed that while she is often posting selfies on social media of herself in a bikini, she never actually wears them on holiday, preferring to sunbathe naked.

Holden said: "I never wear a bikini on holiday. But I wouldn't mix with other nudists. There's a difference.

"I have served the Sunday lunch naked. But no, I would never get my noony out in public. In a private villa, yes."

The Heart FM radio presenter — who is mother to daughters Lexi and Hollie — admitted she had been angered at having to pay £2,500 for private tests so she and her family could go to Portugal on holiday earlier this month.

She fumed: "Getting there cost over £2,500 in tests, which I don't want to rant on and on about it, but I think that is taking advantage of the British public. I'm in a position where I can afford to chuck that money. It's a huge amount of money - someone's taking the p**s.

"If I'd chose to, I could have got in a queue at Faro airport and got one for 25 Euros, but I probably would have caught Covid as well, because the queue was round the block."

She added: "Never again am I paying that sort of money. There should be some sort of inquiry into that."

Holden has been increasingly vocal about COVID restrictions after 'Freedom Day' was pushed back from 21 June to 19 July.

She highlighted a speech in which former Prime Minister Theresa May spoke of the need to allow people to travel and seemed to compare life in the UK to life in dystopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale by sharing a meme from the TV adaptation which said: "Welcome to Gilead under Boris' eye."

The star recently shared a poster for an upcoming anti-lockdown march and suggested that it wouldn’t get much news coverage even if she attended in revealing swimwear.

She posted the picture of the march poster on her Instagram Story, and commented: “Even if I wore a #bikini to this it wouldn’t get reported! Odd that?

"And just to be clear – I’m double vaccinated and not a conspiracy theorist.”
