A year after Amazon first debuted the Welcome to the Blumhouse concept, the series is back with four new feature-length spookfests just in time for Halloween. The streamer is also debuting a rebooted series based on the 1990s horror franchise I Know What You Did Last Summer.
In terms of archive releases, horror unsurprisingly plays a big part in the October schedule. There's everything from the family-friendly Aardman adventure Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit to the slasher-comedy thrills of Happy Death Day 2U and the intense, intelligent scares of Jordan Peele's sophomore directorial feature Us.

New movies coming to Amazon Prime Video in October
Welcome to the Blumhouse: Bingo Hell/Black as Night (1 October)
The first double bill of Amazon's new quartet of Welcome to the Blumhouse movies is set to begin the month on the streaming platform. Bingo Hell sees a senior citizen fighting back against a businessman who has taken over a bingo hall, while members of her community are brutally killed. Action-horror outing Black as Night, meanwhile, pits a teenage girl against vampires in New Orleans.
Justin Bieber: Our World (8 October)
Justin Bieber: Our World shines a spotlight on the Canadian pop star during the events of the COVID-19 pandemic, in which he was preparing for his return to the stage. The 27-year-old played his first live concert in three years on New Year's Eve 2020 to an audience of invited guests, with fans able to watch via an internet stream. Michael D. Ratner's documentary follows Bieber and his team as they prepare for the big day, juggling multiple health protocols.
Welcome to the Blumhouse: Madres/The Manor (8 October)
Set in the 1970s, Madres follows a Mexican-American couple — Beto (Tenoch Huerta) and Diana (Ariana Guerra) — as they move to a small town in California and discover a dark secret. The Manor, meanwhile, spins a gothic tale in an assisted living facility for elderly people. The latter is helmed by Axelle Carolyn, who has directed an episode of the new season of American Horror Story, as well as a segment of the brilliant anthology Tales of Halloween.
After We Fell (22 October)
Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin return for this third entry in the After franchise, shot a year ago alongside the upcoming fourth movie After Ever Happy. This time, Langford's character Tessa sees her life unravel — especially when Hardin (Tiffin) discovers the secret she has been keeping from him.
New TV coming to Amazon Prime Video in October
The Walking Dead: World Beyond (weekly from 4 October)
Focusing on a group of teenagers dealing with the zombie apocalypse, this spin-off of The Walking Dead is back for its second and final season. Set in Nebraska, it features the usual cocktail of good and bad humans, struggling to survive in the face not just of the zombie threat, but the threat posed by other, equally desperate people.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (weekly from 15 October)
This rebooted take on the 1990s horror franchise I Know What You Did Last Summer counts James Wan among its executive producers and features Jumanji star Madison Iseman in its lead role. Just as with previous takes on the story, it follows a group of friends who are targeted by a serial killer, seemingly in revenge for a death they covered up a year earlier.
Maradona: Blessed Dream (29 October)
Just as the ongoing comedy series Young Rock features several actors playing Dwayne Johnson at different stages of his life and career, this Spanish series sees multiple people step into the shoes of the iconic Argentine footballer Diego Maradona. It has already been renewed for a second season of 10 further episodes, so there's evidently plenty of Maradona's life still to explore.
