American Boyfriend Has Hilarious Reaction to Irish Father Discussing Turf

An American boyfriend’s seemingly confused reaction to his Irish girlfriend’s father explaining the conditions of turf has gone viral on TikTok, amassing over 700,000 views.

Footage recorded by Sarah Skehill at her home in County Galway, Ireland, on March 6, shows her father, with a thick accent, explaining to her boyfriend that bad weather has an impact on how the turf in the bog turns out for that year.

“It was his first time meeting my dad,” Skehill told Storyful. “He did actually understand everything being said to him despite his facial expressions,” she said. Credit: Sarah Skehill via Storyful
