Amir Khan's estranged wife Faryal Makhdoom 'vows to raise unborn baby alone'

At the weekend, Amir Khan’s estranged wife, Faryal Makhdoom, took to social media to tell her followers that she is pregnant with baby number two.

The news came just weeks after Amir publicly dumped his wife of four years, accusing her of cheating on him and stating that the marriage was definitely over.

Although Amir has been active on his social media pages since news of Faryal’s pregnancy broke, he has not commented on the news – and now Faryal has vowed to raise her unborn child alone, according to reports.

Speaking to The Sun, a source explained: “Faryal’s announcement came as a shock to everyone involved but she doesn’t want anything more from Amir now.

“They’re back on speaking terms, trying to keep everything civilised for the sake of their daughter and extended families, but the relationship is finished.

“She has told him she will happily bring up their new child without his support, and the divorce is going ahead.

“She’s a strong woman — and the pregnancy isn’t going to change that.”

Faryal’s pregnancy announcement received a mixed response from her followers, with one joking shortly after the news broke: “Congratulations @AnthonyFJoshua”.

Another quipped: “Congratulations, who’s the dad?” whilst others enquired whether Amir knew about the happy news.

The boxer publicly dumped his wife earlier this month following a Twitter rant where he claimed that Faryal had been cheating on him with fellow boxer Anthony Joshua.

Anthony denied the claims and Amir later admitted that he had nothing to do with his marriage breakdown, dubbing the public spat a “misunderstanding” and apologising to the star.

However, he confirmed that he is still set to leave his wife because their relationship had become “unhealthy”.

Shortly after tweeting that his marriage to Faryal was over, sources claimed that Amir had been trying to leave the 26-year-old beauty for two years but she “threatened to destroy his reputation” if he dumped her.

Amir and Faryal already have three-year-old daughter Lamaisah together.
