Love Island’s Amy Hart has left the villa following her split from ballroom dancer Curtis Pritchard.

According to The Sun , Hart told producers that she wanted to quit the ITV show after her ‘half-boyfriend’ Pritchard broke up with her.

Hart’s exit comes just days after false reports that she had already left the show. Prior to this, however, she had temporarily been removed from the villa to be given extra therapy by the the wellbeing team.

The Sun also reports that Hart’s father Ian has stopped tuning into the show as it’s “too painful to watch” his daughter suffer on national television.

The publication quotes a family friend as saying her father can’t bear to read all of negative opinions about his daughter on social media, so he has also taken down his Facebook account.

Appearing on This Morning last week along with Ian, Hart’s mother Sue said of the show: “It’s been hard for me to watch.”

Hart has struggled in the villa since Pritchard decided to end their relationship, having had his head turned by Jourdan Riane.

The situation became even more difficult for Hart when Maura Higgins openly started flirting with the newly single Pritchard, having him teach her how to dance in front of the the other Islanders.

Following the previous rumours that Hart had left the villa, Love Island responded by citing the extensive duty of care provided by the show.

"We take the emotional well-being of all the Islanders extremely seriously," said a spokesperson in a statement.

"We have dedicated welfare producers and psychological support on hand at all times who monitor and regularly speak to all of the Islanders in private and off camera, especially if someone appears to be upset.

"All the Islanders are therefore fully supported by the professionals on site and by their friends in the villa. This means Islanders are always able to reach out and talk to someone if they feel the need. We will of course continue to monitor all of our Islanders in line with our robust protocols.

"Love Island holds a mirror up to relationships and all the different dynamics that go with them."

While those earlier rumours have been confirmed to be untrue, it seems Hart has now changed her mind and left the villa for good.
