Amy Schumer and Ben Hanisch break up

Say it ain’t so!

Amy Schumer has released a statement confirming her relationship with Ben Hanisch is over.

The 35-year-old star hasn’t been seen out with the furniture designer for some time but it was assumed she was busy promoting her new movie ‘Snatched’ with Goldie Hawn.

News of the failed romance will come as a surprise to her fans because on May 3 she said the pair had discussed marriage and she’s spent the past year and a half gushing about Ben and how much he restored her faith in romance.

It seems the couple have done a massive u-turn, as a representative for Amy told People magazine: “Amy and Ben have ended their relationship after thoughtful consideration and remain friends.”

Amy and Ben met on a dating app and she recently said the designer was perfect for her because he was never phased by her celebrity status.

Fans took to Twitter to and lamented the break-up.

She said: “He’s very protective of me. Like, not overprotective, but if someone’s taking pictures of me or filming in a restaurant, he’ll start taking pictures of them.

“He’s really cool; it’s not a problem to be around any of the sorts of people who are at these events. He takes it all in his stride.

“But when I say, ‘Shall we get out of here?,’ he’s like, ‘Yes!’ … I’m so lucky that I met him. And he hadn’t seen any of my work before we met.”

The blonde star also told Marie Claire in August: “[He] is the first guy who’s really been my boyfriend,” she told Marie Claire in August.”
