Andrew WK offers to pay speeding fine for a fan
The internet is wild as hell, we all know that, but if you ever wanted the weird and wonderful power of social media exemplified in one neat Twitter exchange, this will be it.
It all started yesterday (January 15), when one Radio 1 listener lost himself in the music – the music of Andrew WK, to be precise – while driving. Risky business.
Casually driving down the M4 and @AndrewWK new single comes on @DanielPCarter @Radio1RockShow and now I have a speeding ticket. Totally worth it.

"Casually driving down the M4 and @AndrewWK new single comes on @DanielPCarter @Radio1RockShow and now I have a speeding ticket," one fan wrote. "Totally worth it."
Never one to miss out on making a good pun, Andrew WK himself replied to the fan on Twitter with a knowing nod to his single 'Party Hard'. "The price of partying," he wrote.
But this is only the beginning of this crazy Twitter ride.
The fan in question, Luke Mitchell, soon responded to someone's query over the true price of partying – which, according to Thames Valley Police, is "£100". Expensive.
The price of partying.

LUKE: I would like to pay this speeding ticket for you. I was responsible for the sonic party power that caused you to speed.
I'll Direct Message you now to get your information. Please let me do this for you.- ANDREW W.K. (@AndrewWK) January 15, 2018
As all good celebrities do these days (Nicki Minaj, Chrissy Teigen, we're looking at you), Andrew kindly offered to pay Luke's speeding fine for him.
"I was responsible for the sonic party power that caused you to speed," he wrote, "please let me do this for you."
Not before an embarrassing contribution from Thames Valley Police – "You may 'Want fun' and to 'Party hard' but we want you to be safe. Drive safely dudes and party on (responsibly)" – Luke was then offered a pair of free tickets to see Andrew live on his upcoming UK tour.
We guess crime does pay after all.
