Dame Angela Lansbury could be making her TV return (!) in a classic novel adaptation (!!) for the BBC (!!!).

Deadline reports that the Murder, She Wrote icon is in talks to appear in the miniseries, which will be a three-part retelling of Louisa May Alcott's book from the 1860's.

Lansbury is said to be in talks for the role of Aunt March, a wealthy widow who's wrapped up in the superficial elements of high society and very judgemental of those who are beneath her.

Not the nicest of the characters, but we're sure Dame Angela will make us fall in love with her somehow.

The miniseries, which is set to air on PBS in America, will be produced by Susie Liggat, who has worked on Doctor Who, Fortitude and Sherlock. Filming is set to begin in July.

The actress was rumoured to be making her TV comeback in this year's season of Game of Thrones, but sadly she shot those stories down.

One major project we know she will star in is Mary Poppins Returns for Disney, and while we're on the subject of the House of Mouse, Lansbury sang her classic song as old as time, 'Beauty and the Beast' last year and it was magical.

Now, we'll leave you with this weirdly sensual video of Angela Lansbury having a bubble bath.

Happy Saturday!
