Angela Rayner says Jeremy Corbyn might watch the Queen's Christmas address 'on catch up'
The shadow education secretary has defended Jeremy Corbyn over his Queen’s speech comments insisting that “he might watch it on catch up”.
He said he watches it “in the morning” even though the speech is broadcast at 3pm on BBC One on Christmas Day.
In an interview on Good Morning Britain on Thursday, Angela Rayner, defended Mr Corbyn's comments saying he was not lying about watching it.
She was asked: “Why can’t he just be honest and say we don’t get a chance to watch it?”

She responded: “He might watch it on catch up, some of us do, some of us have our dinner at different times.
“I don’t necessarily think that he’s lied and that he’s gong to sell of the NHS.
“This is clutching at straws.”
In Mr Corbyn’s ITV News interview with Julie Ethchingham, she pointed out the afternoon broadcast time.
Mr Corbyn said: "Our Christmas… there's lots to do".
At this point Ms Etchingham smiled and said: "You don't watch it do you?"
Mr Corbyn went on: "I enjoy the presence of my family and friends around Christmas, obviously, like everyone does.
"And I also visit the homeless shelter."
