Yahoo News Angelina Jolie Was Seen Leaving Her Ex-Husband Johnny Lee Miller’s Home in Brooklyn
Angelina Jolie was married to British-American actor Johnny Lee Miller from 1996 to 1999 (they split in September 1997). If you don’t remember this, it’s likely because their marriage was, well, from 1996 to 1999 and their relationship was even shorter. Or maybe you are only old enough to remember the Brangelina years (hey, that is no insult; 2004 was 17 years ago!).
Before we dive into the history of this short-lived relationship and marriage, let’s get to the point of why we are even bringing it up: On Friday night, Jolie was seen leaving Miller’s apartment building in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Dumbo, where, E! notes, he has a $3 million home, according to public records.
Page Six posted photos of Jolie arriving at the building wearing a tan trench coat and carrying a Louis Vuitton purse and a bottle of Peter Michael Wine. The publication noted that Jolie arrived alone and left about three hours later, around 10:30 p.m.
Now it’s time for a history lesson: Jolie and Miller met on the set of their movie Hackers in 1995 and got married in March of 1996, six months after they met. It was the first marriage for them both. As InStyle recorded in its history of this short Hollywood match, the only two guests in attendance at their wedding were her mother, Marcia Lynne “Marcheline” Bertrand, and one of Miller’s friends.
The bride wore a pair of black rubber pants and a shirt with his name written on it in her blood. If you’ll remember, blood has played a part in another of Jolie’s notable relationships, with Tommy Lee Jones.
“It's your husband,” she told The New York Times about her sartorial wedding decision. “You’re about to marry him. You can sacrifice a little to make it really special.”
