Angelina Jolie has a lot to be happy for this June, and her birthday is just part of it!

The Academy Award winning actress turns 49 on June 4, and has a Tony nomination to celebrate this year — as well as much more. She was nominated for co-producing the musical adaptation of S.E. Hinton's 1967 book The Outsiders, which is up for 12 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Direction of a Musical.

Her nomination is extra special, since her 15-year-old daughter Vivienne has been with her along the way as her co-producer. "Viv is a young artist who focuses her efforts on her support of others," she told PEOPLE in April of her daughter.

Jolie also noted that Vivienne was the one who inspired her to be part of The Outsiders. "She saw an early workshop a few times and then invited me to it."

She exclusively told PEOPLE in April that working with the musical's cast was "a dream." "Brilliant singers, dancers and actors all of them. They all work so unbelievably hard," she added.

If she takes home a Tony Award for Best Musical on June 16, she will be halfway to an EGOT, after winning an Oscar in 2000 for her role in Girl, Interrupted.

Aside from her Broadway endeavors, Jolie revealed that she acquired a space in Manhattan in July 2023 to launch her clothing collective, Atelier Jolie. 57 Great Jones Street, the property, was once the home and studio of Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The location opened in late 2023.

Angelina Jolie, Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt, Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, and Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt attend the premiere of Disney's "Dumbo" on March 11, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.

Along with Vivienne, the Salt star is also mother to Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Knox, 15, whom she shares with her ex Brad Pitt. She has been supportive of her children, and is often accompanied by them to movie premieres.

"I love them," she gushed about her kids to British Vogue in March 2021. "I feel like we're such a team. It may sound clichéd, but you love and you try, and even if you burn the eggs, that doesn't matter in the end."

One of Jolie's most recent acting credit onscreen was in The Eternals. At the premiere, she told PEOPLE how thrilled her kids were to see her on screen.

"What’s really moving to me is that they want to see me strong, and so it’s less to see me in a film, but they’re just happy I will be strong and having fun,” she said in July 2019.

Jolie will soon return to the big screen for a new biopic. She will portray opera singer Maria Callas in Maria, set to premiere sometime in 2024. "I take very seriously the responsibility to Maria's life and legacy. I will give all I can to meet the challenge," Jolie said in a statement regarding the role.

She had also spent time in recent years directing movies, including Unbroken and In the Land of Blood and Honey. In 2021, she told Entertainment Weekly that directing had taken a backseat. "I love directing, but I had a change in my family situation that's not made it possible for me to direct for a few years," she told the publication.

In June 2022, she announced that she would write and direct an adaptation for Without Blood, which has yet to set a release date. Her children Pax and Maddox worked on the movie with her in the assistant director department, making for a family affair.

"I'm proud that they are all very much their own people," she said of working with them in August 2022. "Very different and still a very close family that learn from each other."
