Anna Kendrick has been spotted in the Scottish Highlands at Ardross Castle, better known to some as the lavish 19th century estate where The Traitors is filmed.

The 38-year-old, known for her roles in Pitch Perfect and Twilight, was seen sporting a tartan sash as she appeared to be enjoying a tipple in the grand estate castle. She was also seen posing by the iconic black Land Rovers on the grounds.

It comes as speculation is mounting on the line-up for the new series of The Traitors US, which will also be filmed in the Scots castle, home to Claudia Winkleman's UK version of the popular murder mystery gameshow.

Hosting the celebrity US version will be Scottish acting star Alan Cumming. Announcing the news of her arrival on Scottish soil, Super TV news wrote on social media: "Anna Kendrick is currently in The Traitors Castle in Scotland among several other influencers, filming a promo for The Traitors USA with Peacock."

The most recent US season included the likes of Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and ex-politician John Bercow.

Speaking to The News Agents podcast back in January, Studio Lambert boss Stephen Lambert had said a celeb version was "obviously a possibility", but the BBC declined the opportunity to comment, the Mirror reported last month.

It comes as BBC bosses hope to run the show for a third civillian series, following its popularity with viewers and after being inundated with applicants. However, sources say it could be doubled up with a celebrity version months later.

An agreement between Studio Lambert - which makes both the UK and US versions - and the broadcaster of the show, the BBC, is reportedly almost ready. Deadline reports that Claudia Winkleman will remain at the helm, while execs are hoping for some big stars to join.

During a Baftas red carpet interview, executive producer Stephen Lambert told Deadline Hollywood he had his eyes on an unlikely public figure, saying: "Liz Truss, I think she would be great. It is very important [on] that show to be able to tell the truth, and also to not tell the truth. And you know, she would be challenged, possibly."

The Standard reported a spokesman for Ms Truss said: "Liz is a massive fan of The Traitors, but nothing the contestants do comes close to the scheming and deceit in Parliament. She will instead be focusing on delivering for her South West Norfolk constituents."

Either way, it looks like The Traitors is here to stay after it was reported execs have signed up for another six years of the location.
