Another shoplifting appeal launched by police for Waitrose store

Police have issued another appeal for witnesses after a shoplifting incident at a Waitrose store – which has been hit by string of thefts across just nine days.

Hampshire Constabulary is searching for two men in connection with a theft of £280 worth of Glenfiddich whisky at the store on June 1.

This comes after the store was also hit on the same day where eight bottles of champagne and a bottle of Jack Daniels were stolen from the store on The Furlong, Ringwood.

Also on June 1, £429.50 worth of spirits was stolen.

Champagne was also stolen from the store on May 31 and the Waitrose was hit again on June 7, which saw £410.78 worth of meat and Oral-B toothbrushes taken.

It is believed that these offences were not committed by the same offender.

The force's appeal asks for people to come forward who could help locate two men, believed to be able to assist police in their inquiry into the theft of £280 of Glenfiddich whisky.

Five bottles of the whisky were taken from the store between 5.15pm and 5.25pm on June 1.

• Asian

• Aged in his 20s

• Approximately 5ft 7ins tall

• Short black hair

• Moustache

• Wearing grey jogging bottoms with a white stripe, and a black CK jacket

The second man is described as:

• Asian

• Aged in his 20s

• Approximately 5ft 7ins tall

• Short black hair

• Moustache

• Wearing black jogging bottoms, a white T-shirt and a black puffer jacket

A spokesperson from the police said: “Do you recognise these men?

“We believe the men in this image can help us with our investigation and would urge them, or anyone who knows their identity, to get in touch with us.

“Also, if you witnessed the incident, saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, or have any CCTV, mobile phone, dash cam or doorbell camera footage which could aid our investigation, please contact us.
