Ant and Dec amuse 'I'm A Celebrity' viewers with hilarious Brexit skit

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly couldn’t resist a little political jibe as they likened the latest I’m A Celebrity row to Brexit.

The campers were at odds after being told that two of them would be joining newcomers Andy Whyment and Cliff Parisi in the Jungle Jailhouse, where basic rations await.

Some people volunteered to go but there was also talk of drawing names out of a hat, and actress Jacqueline Jossa declared the whole thing was unfair.

After much indecision, Andrew Maxwell and Kate Garraway left the main camp.

Summing up the decision, McPartlin said: “There's an argument to say, if you don't like the result of a vote, you can't just have another vote until you get the result you want.”

Donnelly chimed in: “It's complicated isn't it, I mean right from the off Jacqueline said she wanted to remain.

“Then Kate started off saying she wanted to leave then changed her mind and wanted to become a Remainer.”

McPartlin went on: “Then Andrew Maxwell got involved, he wanted to stop them going back to change the result.”

“The Irish backstop,” said Donnelly. “Complex issue, complex issue.”

McPartlin joked that he liked being in Australia “getting away from all that nonsense back home”.

The pair have made a raft of topical jokes in this year’s series of the ITV reality show, including poking fun at Prince Andrew’s Newsnight interview, in which he attempted to defend his reputation following the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

The Duke of York denied claims he had underage sex with one of Epstein’s accusers, Virginia Roberts.

Roberts has said she remembers the royal sweating as they danced at a club but he said he had a medical condition which meant he did not sweat.

As I’m A Celebrity got under way, McPartlin said the famous contestants were "sweating" with nerves.

Donnelly interjected: "Presuming they can sweat, not everyone can sweat apparently.”
