Ant McPartlin has spoken out about the treatment he’s received by the national media.
After making headlines for his time in rehab and a very public split and divorce from wife of 11 years, Lisa Armstrong, one half of the TV presenting duo Ant & Dec had some choice words for the country’s media.
Well, he specifically had something to say to the Daily Star, whose front page claimed he was ‘stressed’ and on the verge of a ‘telly awards meltdown’ after his private life had been splashed across the tabloids.
Ant, 42, exploded on Twitter after seeing the paper’s headline. He sent a single tweet to both his and Dec’s 6.8 million followers.
‘What a load of sh#t!’ the star tweeted, signing off with an ‘A’, in an attempt to refute the allegations made.
The I’m A Celeb presenter wasn’t amused by their insinuation, and wasn’t afraid to hit back.
The claims come before he and ex Lisa are likely to come face-to-face at tonight’s NTAs, as she’s there as part of Strictly Come Dancing, having worked on the show as its make-up artist and the Geordie boys there for their annual nomination for presenting.
Incidentally, he then tweeted about how excited he was for the awards show shortly after the outburst.
The star had plenty of online support, too, especially with celeb pals voicing their opinions on how the press were treating him.
I love Ant so much. I wish people would piss off and leave him alone. One of Britain’s most talented people. https://t.co/7wUWHP73pB

And his loyal fans were on hand to commend him for speaking out.
When the media try and prey on those that’s been vulnerable..

Regular winners Ant and Dec will be attending the London awards bash, where they’re hoping to continue their long streak of winning Most Popular Entertainment/TV Presenter for an incredible 17th time.
Not only may the divorcing pair end up bumping into each other on the red carpet but they’re directly competing in Best Talent Show for Ant & Dec’s part in X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, and Lisa’s Strictly Come Dancing involvement.
Catch the NTAs on ITV 1 from 7.30pm.
