New dad Ant McPartlin has thanked fans for their best wishes following the birth of his son and included a special message for dog lovers over his much-talked-about tattoo.

When he first shared news on Tuesday of the birth of Wilder Patrick McPartlin, his first child with wife Anne-Marie, the Geordie favourite had also given a glimpse in a photo of a family tree-style inking on his arm. And now he has taken to social media again to reassure fans, especially dog-lovers, that his tattoo had not missed off one of his much-loved pets.

The Newcastle-born Britain's Got Talent host honours his family in the tattoo and the initial image he shared showed the name Amzie at the top of a tree design - his affectionate name for his wife - and, on the branches below, the names of her daughters Daisy and Poppy then Bumble, one of the family's dogs. But it seemed that fans soon noticed the name of his other dog, Hurley, appeared missing.

Ant followed up on Saturday morning by sharing a new photograph on X, showing that Hurley had been there all along: his name just obscured in the earlier picture by how he had been holding baby Wilder. Again taking to the joint Ant & Dec account, he wrote in his message to fans: "Hey all, I just wanted to say thank you so much for the kind messages of love and well wishes for our baby Wilder.

"He’s doing great. Glad you loved the tattoo as well. For all you dog lovers who asked why my beloved Hurley wasn’t on the family tree ... he was!!

"He was just covered by our newborn. All my love, gratitude and heartfelt thanks."

In his post sharing news of Wilder's birth earlier in the week, which sparked an outpouring of congratulations, Ant had written alongside his photo: "Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick McPartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess!"
