Antero Resources: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

DENVER (AP) _ Antero Resources Corp. (AR) on Wednesday reported a loss of $136.4 million in its second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Denver-based company said it had a loss of 43 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 2 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 18 cents per share.

The oil and natural gas producer posted revenue of $989.3 million in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $985.8 million.

Antero Resources shares have risen slightly more than 5 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $20.01, a decrease of slightly more than 1 percent in the last 12 months.
