Antiques Roadshow's Fiona Bruce left stunned after couple 'storm off' and dump item

Antiques Roadshow presenter Fiona Bruce was left stunned when a couple abruptly left the show after hearing their cherished item's valuation.

The BBC programme, a fan favourite since its 1979 debut, is known for its weekly surprising valuations of various items brought in by guests.

Over the years, the show has had its fair share of memorable moments, from experts nearly dropping vases to accidentally 'drinking' urine.

Fiona, 59, who has been hosting the show since 2008, has witnessed many shocking moments, the Express reports.

One incident that stood out to her was when a couple hastily left the show after learning their item's value and immediately "dumped it".

Fiona recently appeared on ITV's Celebrity Catchphrase, hosted by Stephen Mulhern, where she discussed her experiences on Antiques Roadshow, as we previously reported.

Stephen asked: "We know you as a presenter, as a very serious news reader. We know you from Antiques Roadshow as well, of course. Have you ever seen anybody really cheesed off when they bring their item in and they get told it's worth absolutely nothing? "

Laughing, Fiona replied: "Everyone tells me they love that bit. And yes, I mean, many times."

She then recounted the hilarious moment, saying: "Some people came along once, a couple and they had an enormous painting.

"They lugged it along and it took them ages. Eventually the specialist saw it and said £30 maybe, and they were so cross."

Fiona admitted: "They dumped it against a hedge and stormed off."

In other news, the BBC has confirmed that filming for the Antiques Roadshow is set to resume soon. Fans can look forward to the 47th series of the beloved show that uncovers hidden gems that lie unnoticed until they're pointed out.

The new series will launch at the Firstsite Art Gallery in Colchester, Essex, and conclude at the grand Thirlestane Castle in Lauder, tucked away in the Scottish Borders.

Other iconic locations on the tour include the historic Beaumaris Castle on the island of Anglesey, the vibrant Botanic Gardens in Belfast, and the architecturally remarkable Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery in Ealing, London.
