Yahoo News This New Year's Eve party is basically the Oscars
Ever day-dreamed of what you'd wear to the Oscars and who you'd thank in your acceptance speech between Gwynnie-esque sobs? Yeah, us too.
Luckily, that may no longer have to be a dream, as one cinema in Newcastle is hosting its very own Oscars party, and it sounds exactly like the real thing.
If the real thing included absolutely no movies, no celebrities and was held in the Toon, of course.
In spite of all that, Tyneside Cinema's New Year's Eve event still sounds very exciting indeed – especially when you consider all the free champagne, movie-themed cocktails, Oscars-style goody bags, canapés and live DJ set on offer.

The event takes place on New Year's Eve (natch), and tickets can be bought from the cinema's website right here. Here's hoping they'll be giving out Best Dressed awards, eh?
At the moment we have no idea if there'll be any famous faces on the guest list, but we can hazard a guess that any list won't include these 20 big names.
Why? Because they're the best actors to have never won an Oscar, of course.
The top five on the list of perpetually snubbed actors are Gary Oldman, Johnny Depp, Edward Norton, Ian McKellen (excuse us?) and Ralph Fiennes.
