I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! kicks off tonight, and the contestants don't get much time to settle before they're thrust into some full-on challenges.

Competing this year are Stanley Johnson, Jennie McAlpine, Rebekah Vardy, Dennis Wise, Jack Maynard, Jamie Lomas, Georgia Toffolo, Shappi Khorsandi, Vanessa White and Amir Khan.

All ten celebs met up for the first time at a luxury villa in the Gold Coast, where they were greeted by hosts Ant & Dec.

At the start it was all pretty genteel.

Jamie was clearly happy to see Jennie rocking up.

"Yeah, two fellow northerners," he said.

Georgia and Jack apparently have some friends in common, but she couldn't quite remember if they'd met before.

As we found out in the lead up to the show, Amir has never seen an episode of I'm a Celeb before, a fact that predictably amused the hell out of Ant & Dec.

And there were challenges galore before they even get to the jungle.

Six of the celebs had to walk the plank... but not just any plank.

It's a plank a whopping 334 feet up on the roof of the hotel

Amir, Vanessa, Jack, Jennie, Jamie and Georgia were chosen, and there were definitely some nerves among the group.

Georgia and Vanessa were especially nervous, and while Jennie claimed she wasn't afraid of heights, her lack of balance was a worry.

The other celebrities didn't get off easily, either.

Dennis and Shappi had to go for a skydive. And you've guessed right – not just any skydive.

The pair had to land in a lake, then swim all the way to a beacon and light a flare. Dennis went first.

And Rebekah and Stanley didn't get off without a challenge, either.

The pair had to tackle the creepy crawlies of the wretched wreck.

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! begins tonight (Sunday 19 November) at 9pm on ITV
