Apple mocked over $1,000 monitor stand to go alongside brand new $6,000 Mac Pro
Anyone who can afford to pay $5,000 for Apple’s new Mac Pro can expect to pay a lot more if they want the full kit.
While the price tag for the Apple’s new tech will already be eye-watering for some, the tech giant are also charging $999 for a stand to put it on.
Added to the $5,000 for a Mac Pro monitor, the total cost will be a staggering $12,000.
But it’s the price of the stand that has finally proved to be too much for some, with journalist Mike Murphy tweeting: “Only Apple would charge $1,000 for a literal stand and then display it like it’s a piece of art.”
Others quickly mocked the tech giant:

While Apple were roundly mocked online, even the most ardent Apple fans who were at the launch event seemed shocked.
As Apple’s resident of hardware engineering, John Ternus, announced the price of the stand, audience members broke out in a murmur rather than a spontaneous round of applause.
The Mac Pro is due out sometime in the autumn.
