How to apply for Love Island 2019! Hurry up, the deadline is soon!

After being treated to glorious sunshine over the Easter weekend, many of us are looking forward to the long summer days ahead.

But more importantly, the arrival of British Summer Time means one thing and one thing only – Love Island is back.

Yep, that’s right. In a couple of months, more oil-slicked, super-buff twenty-somethings will be flying out to Mallorca in the hopes of finding love.

Even better news – applications for the hit ITV show are still open. As host Caroline Flack once said, you could apply for Oxford or Cambridge or you could apply for one of the most popular (and lucrative) shows on TV.

So if you think you’re a player like Adam or “loyal” like Georgia, here’s how to apply for Love Island 2019:

When is Love Island 2019?

The first episode of last year's series aired in early June, so our bet is that the first episode of the new series will hit our screens on Monday 3 June.

How can I apply?

Applications are now open and hopeful contestants can apply online by filling in an application form on the ITV website.

The 2019 form reads: "How do you fancy enjoying your very own long hot summer of romance? Love Island will be back for summer 2019 and we're now on the look out for lively singles from across the country to take part."

The deadline for applications is April 30.

What are the requirements for applying?

Contestants must be over 18 on or before the closing date and must have a valid passport and other travel documents.

Whilst being young, single and in the mood for love is key, there are certain attributes that will enhance your chances if you decide to give it a go (having a six-pack might help, too).

ITV2 producer Lewis Evans told Cosmopolitan that a strong social media presence is beneficial:

“We cast our net far and wide by looking at social media profiles (Twitter and Instagram) as it’s always quite easy to gauge on there the people who are popular, aren’t afraid to show themselves off and have a big following. We also attend events and hold street castings for prospective Islanders. The key is that they are over 18, single and looking for love.”
