The Apprentice delivers a brutal interview round with three exits
On tonight's edition of The Apprentice it was time for the dreaded interview round, and this year it was particularly brutal.
The five remaining contestants, Camilla Ainsworth, Daniel Elahi, Khadija Kalifa, Sabrina Stocker and Sian Gabbidon had to be grilled by experts Mike Soutar, Claude Littner, Claudine Collins and Linda Plant, who went through their business plans with a fine tooth comb.
Each contestant had a rough ride during their interviews, particularly Daniel, who was called out for a number of false statements he had made about his business, including that he'd already sold one million units, something which he denied, then admitted to writing.
{% verbatim %}
“Who wrote that you had sold over 1 million units?”
Daniel:
Not me
*interviewer stares*
Maybe me
*interviewer stares*
Might be me
*interviewer stares*
Probably me

Best bit tonight goes to Daniel.
"I didn't write that'
"I need to check who wrote that"
"There's a chance I wrote that"
"I'm 90% sure I wrote that"
"Okay, I wrote that"#TheApprentice pic.twitter.com/FsJ7NBs915- Jingle Bell 🎄 🎁 (@thepapabell) December 12, 2018

Daniel on #theapprentice interviews is one of the funniest things I’ve seen for ages! “I didn’t write that”
“There’s a chance I wrote that”
“I could have wrote that”
“90% I wrote that”
“Yeah I wrote that” #tvgold #toofunny- Helen Read (@HelenRead_) December 12, 2018

Daniels response to the claims on his products page on Amazon saying he’s sold over 1 million products;
“Daniel, Did you write it”
“It may have been me”
“90% could of been me”
“Okay, yes it was me”

But on the plus side, he did get to learn that England is not a continent and Australia was not in Asia.
{% verbatim %}
"I've launched in 3 continents.." "Which continents?"
"England."
"England is a country.. Name me another continent?"
"Asia."
"Where in Asia?"
Pause.
"Is Australia in Asia?"
Lmao wtf.#TheApprentice- hanny are you okay? (@hannahali3) December 12, 2018

First to be fired was Sabrina, who was told that her tennis events company was just not feasible for Lord Sugar.
Next was Khadija, who had been told during the interview stage that her cleaning company was not a money-making idea. Khadija also faced criticism for shouting and coming over as aggressive, however many viewers defended her demeanour on Twitter.
{% verbatim %}
I hate how throughout the whole process the kept labelling Khadija as “aggressive” just because she stands up for herself and doesn’t take anyone’s shit. It was really sad when she cried #TheApprentice

Sabrina is “bouncy and bubbly”? Khadija is considered aggressive simply because she asserts herself? I call sexist horseshit #TheApprentice

Oh No !!! Really wanted Khadija to go to the final #TheApprentice

Next was Daniel, whose personality seemed to let him down, as Lord Sugar told him: “When you’re investing in a business, you’re investing in a person. I can’t invest in you.” Ouch.
That left swimwear designer Sian and nut milk brand owner Camilla in the final. Both women cried and hugged after leaving the boardroom, with Sian telling Camilla "girl power."

Next week Camilla and Sian's businesses will come under more scrutiny, as Lord Sugar chooses which candidate he'll be investing in.
The Apprentice concludes Sunday December 16 at 9pm on BBC One.
