Yahoo can now exclusively reveal that today, April 1st, CW has announced a new spinoff series to complement Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. Despite indicating previously that they did not have any plans to do so, it’s clear that all involved are very excited by this news.

“Felicity is the character of which I’m most proud”, revealed Marc Guggenheim, executive producer of Arrow. “With the characters I’ve created, it’s just like picking your favourite child - really, really easy. Obviously there’s always going to be one character that just works, you know? There’s always something so compelling about scenes with Felicity, so we felt that it was time to really let the character grow – after all, there’s only so much time we can focus on Felicity in Arrow.”

A few teasing details have been revealed in these tweets:

There’s no word yet as to what the impact will be on Arrow, without one of it’s main characters, but we can’t wait for this new spinoff program. Certainly, April 1st is going to be remembered as an important day in comic book history!
