Gemma Collins's boyfriend James 'Arg' Argent is hitting back at Dancing on Ice viewers who think the TOWIE star's fall on the rink was totally staged.

The GC put on a brave face after doing a wobble during the middle of her routine on live TV on Sunday (January 27), but she was roughed up enough that she's needed to use her mother's wheelchair to get around since then.

Unfortunately, Gemma's diva antics on previous reality shows do precede her and some viewers felt that she cooked up the on-air tumble to gain sympathy, after her contentious on-air row with judge Jason Gardiner last week.

After fans called it "dubious" and "staged", James 'Arg' Argent lashed out by telling The Sun: "Anyone who thinks Gemma faked the fall and risked life-threatening injuries is an idiot.

"She had a feeling that something was going to go wrong on the night... and she was right!"

Earlier in today, Arg shared the extent of the bruising on Gemma's legs in a series of Instagram stories where he paid tribute to her being brave enough to carry on with the routine.

"When I saw her fall like that face-first, I honestly thought she might be unconscious or lost some teeth," he said.

"The way she got up & carried on was AMAZING!!! You worked so hard this week & improved so much!"

In spite of her faceplant, Gemma and professional partner Matt Evers earned their highest scores of the series and even avoided the Dance Off!

Dancing on Ice continues this Sunday on ITV.
