Armed Man With Pants On Head Holds Up Shop

An armed robber who held up a shop while wearing a pair of boxer shorts on his head is being hunted by police.

The man's face was covered by the grey and white patterned boxer shorts and he had a large kitchen knife when he struck at a branch of McColls in Yeovil, Somerset.

He threatened staff at the Lyde Road shop before making off with a quantity of cash.

Police have a released a CCTV picture of the man in the shop in the hope of catching him.

A spokesman said: "The man is described as white with either a dark, tanned complexion or dirty skin, aged in his 20s, of skinny build and approximately 6ft tall.

"He had dark stubble and a moustache and short dark gelled hair."

He made off in the direction of Victoria Road and police are urging people living in that area "to check their gardens and bins for a large kitchen-type knife and a pair of grey and white patterned boxer shorts".
