Armed police storm Holyland property following reports of stabbing

Armed police attended a property in the Holyland area of South Belfast following reports that a man had been stabbed.

Police were called to the incident in the afternoon of Monday, June 24, following reports of a stabbing at a property on Fitzroy Avenue area of the Holylands.

A video of the incident has been circulating on social media showing armed officers arriving at the property with weapons drawn and they can been seen speaking with someone inside.

However, shortly after arriving on Fitzroy Avenue, officers found that no offences had been detected and left the scene after conducting checks to ensure the area was safe.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police received a report that a man had been stabbed at a property in Fitzroy Avenue on Monday afternoon, June 24th.

"Officers attended and conducted checks to make the area safe. No offences were detected."
