It's been a long summer without our DC TV fix, but luckily Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow's return to telly is now imminent. And let's not forget Archie Comics' Riverdale, too.

Next month, all five shows will pick up on those cliffhangers that we've been pondering for months, so the timing is right for each to release their season premiere synopses. Below, we'll run down the full lot.

Arrow:

The lives of Oliver Queen's friends, allies and loved ones were left hanging in the balance in the season five finale, when the Green Arrow's arch-enemy Prometheus set off a suicide bomb that may have killed them all.

We do know that Olly survived and, in the synopsis below for season six opener 'Fallout', it looks as if we'll be getting some answers about the fate of the rest of Team Arrow:

Oliver (Stephen Amell) deals with the fallout of the explosion on the island. James Bamford directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Wendy Mericle.

The Flash:

Last we saw Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), he'd kissed Iris (Candice Patton) goodbye and exiled himself forever as the guardian of the speedforce.

Trailers have let the cat out the bag that Cisco and the STAR Labs team will bring Barry Allen back to Central City in 'The Flash Reborn', but is he really the Barry we remember?

With Barry (Grant Gustin) in the speed force, Iris (Candice Patton), Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale), Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Vibe (Carlos Valdes) have taken over protecting Central City. However, when a powerful armored villain threatens to level the city if The Flash doesn't appear, Cisco makes a risky decision to break Barry out of the speed force. However, the Barry that comes out isn't the same Barry that went in. Glen Winter directed the episode with story by Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Todd Helbing & Eric Wallace.

Supergirl:

Having repelled an invasion of the Daxamites in the season two finale, Kara (Melissa Benoist) must now deal with a much more personal crisis: can she ever really live a normal life while moonlighting as Supergirl?

We'd suggest Kara figure out that existential crisis quickly because the alien race known as the Worldkillers are headed for earth, and they have a beef with the Kryptonians:

Kara (Melissa Benoist) deals with the loss of Mon-El (Chris Wood) by focusing all her energy on being Supergirl and the mysterious new threat against National City. Alex (Chyler Leigh) confesses a secret to Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) about their impending nuptials. A citizen of National City has a mysterious connection to Kara, and Lena (Katie McGrath) makes a bold move. Jesse Warn directed the episode with story by Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Robert Rovner and Caitlin Parrish.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow:

White Canary (Caity Lotz) and her allies made a real mess of history trying to thwart the Legion of Doom last season, so now it's up to their mentor Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) to set things right.

Tension between the two sides comes to a head when the Legends refuse to stop chasing criminals throughout time and space, leading to a showdown between one-time allies:

When the Legends realize that they broke the timeline, Rip Hunter (guest star Arthur Darvill) arrives with his new organization – the Time Bureau – to relieve them of duty. The Legends are thrilled to get a chance to put the team back together but a new threat arises when Rory (Dominic Purcell) spots Julius Caesar (guest star Simon Merrells) in Aruba. Sara (Caity Lotz), Nate (Nick Zano) and Ray (Brandon Routh) devise a plan to steal the Waverider back from the Time Bureau in order to try and stop Julius Caesar from conquering the modern world. Victor Garber, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Franz Drameh also star. Rob Seidenglanz directed the episode written by Phil Klemmer & Marc Guggenheim

Riverdale:

The question on everyone's lips is: Who shot Fred Andrews? The whole town will be caught in the investigation in season two premiere 'A Kiss Before Dying'.

As romance heats up between Archie and Veronica, and Bughead faces a potentially tragic turn of events, Riverdale's secrets and lies may end up putting Betty (Lili Reinhart) in serious danger:

As Fred's (Luke Perry) life hangs in the balance following the shooting at Pop's diner, Archie (KJ Apa) struggles with the emotional aftermath of what he witnessed. Meanwhile, as Veronica (Camila Mendes) steps out of her comfort zone to support Archie, she learns that her father Hiram (Mark Consuelos) has arrived to Riverdale earlier than expected. Elsewhere, at Pop's diner, Pop Tate (guest star Alvin Sanders) recounts the chilling details of the shooting, which leaves Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) questioning the gunman's true motives. Lastly, after running into Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) at the hospital, Betty and Kevin (Casey Cott) are surprised to learn about the fire at Thornhill. Rob Seidenglanz directed the episode written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

In the US, Supergirl premieres on Monday, October 9 at 8pm ET, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow are back on Tuesday, October 10 at 8pm ET and 9pm ET, Riverdale kicks off on Wednesday, October 11 at 8pm ET, and Arrow returns on Thursday, October 12 at 9pm ET.
