Arrowverse crossover has a huge Arrow, The Flash twist

The Arrowverse crossover 'Elseworlds' looks set to be introducing a mind-shattering twist.

Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, has shared a new poster which has sent everyone into a mad frenzy. It depicts him dressed in The Flash's suit, with Barry Allen himself Grant Gustin clothed in Oliver's superhero gear.

The shocking poster teases: 'Destiny will be rewritten' and Amell captioned his post with: "My name is Barry Allen and I am the fastest man alive."

Are we actually about to witness Oliver take on the speedster role, while Barry morphs into the heroic archer? Or could this be some massive hoax designed by the production team? Either way, it's bloody exciting.

Many fans lost their heads a bit following this surprise announcement, as you'd expect.

While some people seemed a little unsure about the poster's genuineness, Amell followed up his original message with a short reply saying: "This is real, btw. I'm in the Flash suit while I type this."

The Elseworlds crossover is a three-night special commencing in December, ready to warp and remould the established Multiverse. Characters such as Ruby Rose's Batwoman, Mr Freeze's wife Nora and even Arkham Asylum supervillains are set to be introduced.

The crossover starts with The Flash on Sunday, December 9 at 8pm ET, followed by Arrow on Monday, December 10 at 8pm ET and Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11 at 8pm ET, all on The CW in the US. Sky1 airs all three series in the UK.
