Officers were left shocked when they uncovered a large amount of weapons and suspected Class A drugs after a car was seized in Halifax.

West Yorkshire Police attended at the recovery agents depot on Tuesday, May 14, to search a car that had previously seized in the Pellon area.

Officers seized a number of weapons including three air weapons, machetes, knives, sword, hatchets and a baseball bat. Over 100 wraps of suspected Class A drugs (Heroin / Crack Cocaine) and three further larger bags of suspected Class A (Cocaine) were also recovered. Officers confirmed enquiries are ongoing.

A statement, posted to the official West Yorkshire Police Facebook account, reads: "Weapons and drugs taken off the streets. Yesterday officers attended at our recovery agents depot to search a car the had previously seized in the Pellon area. As can be seen - we were quite shocked to see what we found.

"Thankfully, the three firearms were checked and were airsoft guns, however the machetes, knives, sword, hatchets and baseball bat were very real.

"Along with this over 100 wraps of suspected Class A drugs (Heroin / Crack Cocaine) were recovered and 3 further larger bags of suspected Class A (Cocaine) was also recovered. Enquiries ongoing."
