The David Hide Asthma and Allergy Research Centre at St Mary's Hospital has received a pro-interactive educational tablet.

Funded by the Friends of St Mary's, who donated £4,178, the tablet will offer a welcome distraction for young people attending the centre.

Nurse specialist Emily Reed proposed the tool, after seeing its benefits from her experience in the Children's Ward.

Emily said: "Both interaction tablets have been kindly donated by the Friends of St Mary’s Hospital.

"It has helped to make the waiting room at the Asthma and Allergy Clinic more welcoming for the children and their families who attend our clinics.

"It provides vital distraction when it is needed. Thank you for all your help with funding the device."

Andrea Edgson, Friends of St Mary’s Hospital trustee, said: "It was so lovely to meet Alex and Rowan (pictured) and it was a 'meant to be' moment as when asked if they would like to be in the photo, Alex replied 'it would be a pleasure' as her step grandad was a trustee of the Friends of St Mary’s before his passing."
