Monchi has thanked Douglas Luiz for his service to Aston Villa after the midfielder completed his move to Juventus.

The Brazilian has signed a deal with Juve until 2029 after Villa agreed to his sale worth €50m. The transfer puts Villa in the clear regarding Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

In a separate deal worth €22m, Juventus' Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling-Junior will join Villa. Both players are due to be announced as new signings imminently.

After Villa confirmed the news that Luiz has left for Juventus, the club's president of football operations Monchi wrote on X: "Thank you Douglas. Good luck!!"

The 26-year-old made a total of 204 appearances for Villa after arriving from Man City in the summer of 2019 following their promotion from the Championship.

He played a key role in Villa's progress under Unai Emery over the last 20 months, helping his side qualify for Europe, reach the Europa Conference League semi-final and then secure Champions League qualification last season.
