Atlas V Rocket Sighted in Wilmington, North Carolina

The Atlas V rocket launching Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft to the International Space Station was sighted far and wide after it lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on December 20.

This footage, captured by meteorologist Tim Armstrong at the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington, North Carolina, shows the rocket from the NWS parking lot.

The Starliner went off course after the launch, with Boeing stating that the craft “experienced an off-nominal insertion” but was in a “safe and stable configuration” in orbit.
