Australian rapper arrested by police on jet skis after he jumped into the sea to avoid paying restaurant bill

A man has been rested by police after he jumped into the ocean so he could avoid paying the bill for his seafood dinner.

Aspiring rapper Terry Peck, also known as ‘2Pec’, was caught by officers on jet skis off of Main Beach on Australia’s Gold Coast.

The 33-year-old is said to have gorged on two lobsters, baby octopus, 21 vodka shots and “a number of Coronas”, racking up a £375 bill at the award-winning Omeros Bros Restaurant.

Queensland Police say Peck did a runner before paying, jumping onto the sea and refusing to return to the shore.

Two officers were forced to jump on jet skis to reach Peck, who was arrested in the ocean.

The force said in a statement: “Police will allege they attempted to negotiate with the man to exit the water by himself, but he refused.

“Police were then forced to enter the water and apprehend the man, bringing him back to shore without incident.”

Peck said after a court appearance: “There was oyster shell in the oyster [shot] and he said he was going to take off the bill.”

He also described the lobster mornay as “overcooked”.
