Avengers: Endgame star Scarlett Johansson tight-lipped about Black Widow film

Scarlett Johansson has been discussing her future as Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Film fans have been waiting for the character’s solo outing since her debut in Iron Man 2 nine years ago, which – according to reports – is currently being written by Jac Scaeffer.

However, the actor – who returns as the character in Avengers: Endgame – has remained coy over the film’s existence considering Marvel and Disney are yet to officially announce it.

Despite this, it was reported last month that Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh, David Harbour (Stranger Things) and The Handmaid’s Tale actor OT Fagbenle would all appear

“I think everything happens when it’s supposed to,” Johansson said when asked by Variety why the film has taken so long to happen. “All I’ll say is that I think I have a greater understanding of the character now than I ever possibly could have had before. Whatever iteration you see of this character, may or may not see of this character in the future, will be the better because of it.”

Avengers: Endgame is now in cinemas worldwide. For everything you need to know beforehand, you can find a full recap of the MCU here.
