Avengers: Infinity War promises to be the biggest superhero blockbuster of all time, with an estimated 67 actors in its core cast.

But if you thought they would all spend their time crammed inside the hangout space in Avengers Tower, think again – because the MCU is getting bigger to compensate.

"Any time you turn that page on this script, you're kind of staggered, blown away, terrified by what's in front of you," production designer Charles Wood told ComicBook.com.

"I think rather like Doctor Strange, you'll find this film, it's not regurgitative, yeah? What I'm trying to say, is, there are many, many, many new worlds to see in this film."

It's not entirely clear whether Wood means that the film will literally be set on other worlds, but it sounds like Marvel Studios will at least be expanding the MCU's in the way that Ant-Man and Doctor Strange did with their other dimensions.

And, of course, Infinity War's big bad Thanos (Josh Brolin) is a space tyrant type, so having Earth's heroes going into space (with the Guardians of the Galaxy, no less) would make perfect sense.

Karen Gillan is the latest actor to join the huge cast, which will include Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Chris Hemsworth and many, many more.

Avengers: Infinity War will be released on April 27, 2018 in the UK and on May 4, 2018 in the US.
