Avril Lavigne And Chad Kroeger Split After Two Years of Marriage

Another celeb couple bites the dust: Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger are separating after two years of marriage.

Writing on her Instagram page, Avril broke the sad news, insisting that they will always ‘be the best of friends’.

“It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today. Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we’ve created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support,” she wrote alongside a photo from their wedding.

There have been rumours that the couple were ‘on the rocks’ for a while, with the story being that once they had finished recording music together there wasn’t a whole lot left.

Another source told E! news, “The main issue is this: When they met, they were in work mode. They were doing a collaboration and that’s where the attraction stemmed from. She was in the studio and he was producing her.”

“She was also coming off some bad relationships where she didn’t really feel appreciated as an artist. She felt she and Chad connected on that level.”

The unlikely pair shocked everyone when they announced their engagement in August 2012.

The news comes just as Avril’s previous ex-husband, Deryck Whibley married Ariana Cooper in LA earlier this week.

Avril divorced Deryck back in 2010 after four years of marriage.
