Ayrshire hotel named best in the region at national awards ceremony
One of Ayrshire’s leading hotels has won the title of 'Best 4 Star Hotel' in the region in a national industry awards contest.
SimpsInns’ Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride was awarded the top accolade at this year’s Prestige Hotel Awards in Glasgow. The Prestige Hotel Awards showcase and reward outstanding service across Scotland’s hotel industry following a nationwide public vote. The Awards welcome over 500 members of the most prestigious hotels and hospitality businesses across Scotland.
The Waterside was also Highly Recommended in the Pet Friendly Hotel category. The hotel has already established itself as one of the region’s leading leisure and wedding venues since opening its doors in 2013. It is set in an idyllic seafront location along the coast in West Kilbride, including breathtaking views over the Firth of Clyde towards the Isle of Arran from the water’s edge.
Malcolm Simpson from SimpsInns said: "Here at SimpsInns, we always go the extra mile to make sure our guests have the best experience at The Waterside, so it means the world to us to have been named ‘Best 4 Star Hotel (South)’ at The Prestige Hotel Awards 2024.
"This latest national award for The Waterside is a true reflection of the hard work and dedication our entire team put in every day to look after our guests and for them to keep coming back."
SimpsInns recently announced its plans to open a new sea view spa, first-floor resident gym and 17 extra guest rooms at The Waterside in 2024. The new spa will feature an indoor sauna and steam room, a spa lounge and an outdoor hydro pool.
The Irvine-based Simpson family is the driving force behind SimpsInns, which owns and operates a collection of award-winning hotels, restaurants, bars, spa, golf, and leisure activities along the Ayrshire coast, including The Gailes Hotel & Spa in Irvine, The Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride and Old Loans Inn at Troon.
The company has invested over £4 million across the group with further spending planned at both The Waterside and Old Loans Inn in 2024.
