Oasis fans have been sent into a frenzy after the band's official Instagram page posted a cryptic video on Monday evening (May 20).

The Manchester band, made up of brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, came to a definitive end in 2009 following a tumultuous relationship between the pair.

The official Oasis instagram page, which has 1.8 million followers and regularly posts past memories of the band performing and to celebrate anniversaries of song and album releases, shared a new video on Monday.

The short portrait clip, which was posted with no caption, featured an aerial shot of a large estate on the bank of a river with muted music playing in the background.

Fans immediately flooded the comments with a number of theories for the reason behind the video being shared, with some questioning whether the group would be reforming.

Others suggested there may be something in the works to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the group's debut album Definitely Maybe, which was released in 1994. Many speculated the building in the video matched that of the recording studio.

Beneath the post, which had over 40,000 likes, one fan commented: "They’re back together?!" as another posted: "Come on, don't play with my feelings."

"Some deluxe Definitely Maybe reissue," another speculated. "Maybe the original mixes from the first two recording sessions of the album."

As another said: "It's where they recorded Definitely Maybe, it will be something to do with the 30th Anniversary" and another posted: "Surely it's not happening."
