Nadiya Hussain, the Great British Bake Off winner, has remarried her husband 14 years after they first exchanged vows in an arranged marriage as “complete strangers”.

Mrs Hussain, 33, wedded Abdal Hussain in 2004 when she was just 19-years-old in a traditional Islamic ceremony in Bangladesh. The pair only met once before their nuptials.

Mrs Hussain, who won Bake Off in 2015, has three children with her husband, 12-year-old Musa, 11-year-old Dawyd and eight-year-old Maryam.

In an interview earlier this year, Mrs Hussain revealed her plans to register their marriage officially in the UK, saying: "We're married Islamically but we've never done the proper vows here."

Announcing the marriage on social media, the celebrity chef showed off a contemporary £159 Swarovski wedding ring which the brand describe as a “sparkling knot to represent the unique bond between two people”.

Posting on Instagram, Mrs Hussain wrote: 'Nothing fancy just love. No frills. Just us. We did it again. I do. I always will. I would do it all over again #married #secondtime”.

Her husband replied: “You can't run away from me now. I love you to infinity and beyond Xxx.”

Speaking to Good Housekeeping magazine last year, Mrs Hussain said it was “tough” entering an arranged marriage because it means “marrying a complete stranger”, adding: “I didn't know my husband, and then we had two children, and then I fell in love with him.”

Mrs Hussain has had an incredibly successful career since winning the popular baking programme, including several presenting roles on her own TV shows and a prestigious commission from Buckingham Palace to bake the Queen’s cake as part of her 90th birthday celebrations.
