Bake Off fans FUMING as Rahul WINS: 'Kim Joy was robbed!'

Great British Bake Off viewers were left furious after Rahul was crowned champion after being given extra time to create his Showstopper.

The baking enthusiast was reduced to tears after Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith gave him the title over Kim Joy and Ruby.

Hollywood described him as “magic,” while Leith applauded him for always pushing himself.

But viewers failed to agree, with many accusing the judges of favouring Rahul who they deemed an unworthy winner.

Another tweeted: “Well done #Rahul Well deserved #GBBO winner 2018! A very humble winner too! #GBBOFinal.”

A third posted: “Well they were all winners in my eyes. Let's not ruin Rahul's moment with negative comments. I hope they all go on to succeed.”

Rahul, who baked to make friends and drinks milk to stay calm, had a nightmare final which saw his icing bag explode, his pitta breads burn and his a glass smash at the start of the Showstopper challenge.

The amateur baker served up a “disgrace of a pitta” as the finalists took part in a Bake Off first which saw them make and cook pitta breads on an open fire outside of the white tent for the Technical challenge.

He was then granted 15 minutes extra time after he smashed a glass minutes after kicking off the third and final challenge.

Crew members rushed in to help hoover up the damage before Hollywood and Leith agreed to grant him 15 minutes extra time.

They were bowled over by his royal garden biscuit and cake Showstopper which beat Ruby’s magical edible landscape and Kim Joy’s Lost city of Atlantis landscape.

On winning, Rahul said: “This is probably the first time I got something like this like a trophy. I talk so much loads of the time but I don't know what to say now. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.”
