Bake Off Linda's goodbye letter will leave you feeling emotional
In the challenging times the world is facing currently, Bake Off is a little slice of Tuesday evening happiness, not least because of the show's wonderful contestants.
One such baker who's brought a smile to our faces since the series began is Linda, 61, from East Sussex.
Each week, Linda's remained brilliantly positive and has treated us to some fabulous bakes along the way. Last night (20 October) she began Pastry Week in her trademark upbeat fashion, hoping to excel in the challenges.
However, after failing to compile her eclairs in the technical, instead serving pastry sticks with dipping sauces, and watching her tart cage collapse in the showstopper, Linda found herself eliminated from the contest.
Oh my god Linda couldn’t decorate her éclairs in time, so instead of putting on a topping she just dumped it in three bowls and made it A DIP. Iconic. #GBBO pic.twitter.com/ahBBL61WCw

Of course, Linda wouldn't let a little thing like that keep her spirits down. In fact, she's written a lovely farewell letter, which has been shared on Twitter.
"Hello Everyone," Linda started the note by saying.
"Where does one start, Rowan would say. I love him so much! It’s always great meeting new people and being part of the GBBO family this year has to be one of the best experiences of my life. I’m in awe at Love [Productions] managing to make the programme under the circumstances and wanted to say a ‘Big Thank you!’ for looking after me so well.
"I’ve felt so valued throughout this experience and have met some lovely people. Everything I’ve read about the show has been amazing and I’m so proud to have been part of GBBO 2020.
"Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. I’m really excited to see who wins! Scream!"
“SCREAM!”

Fans took to the comment section to share their support for Linda.
"You did yourself proud. You made many beautiful things. Wishing you all the best for the future. Keep baking lovely Linda," one said.
"I’ll miss Linda honestly I love her positive energy - all the best!" another added.
It's true that Linda's positive outlook has been a joy to watch during her Bake Off journey. At this time, who doesn't appreciate a big, warm smile, even when the baking's not going quite to plan?
The Great British Bake Off airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
