The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer returned to Channel 4 this evening, with participating popstar Paloma Faith bringing the laughs through her poo emoji cake pops.

Appearing opposite former Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker - the first-ever female Time Lord - comedian Munya Chawawa and Made in Chelsea's Spencer Matthews in the famous white tent, the 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' singer revealed that her eldest daughter's fixation inspired her choice in the Signature round.

What, how and why?

This celebrity quartet, overseen by hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond, plus judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, was tasked with crafting eight identical cake pops. In other words, squashed cake on a stick for kids.

Faith explained to the cameras that her dairy-free caramel chocolate creations would have a "big twist" via their decoration. "My six-year-old is obsessed with the poo emoji, so I'm making it in the shape of poos. Poo pops, we're making poo pops!"

She was later seen telling Hollywood and Leith: "I did take the liberty of buying a mould, because when I was at home practising I tried to do it by hand and it was too realistic, and I didn't think I'd put you through that.

"Wouldn't be to your standard but it would be edible."

As for the Technical and Showstopper challenges, this week's Celebrity Bake Off stars had to make a batch of perfectly shaped pretzels served with a Red Leicester cheese sauce, as well as a "trifle narcissistic" biscuit portrait of the two judges.

Thanks to his classy efforts, Matthews was eventually crowned Star Baker after Fielding joked that Faith had won instead. "So unkind!" smiled Leith as Whittaker and Hammond howled with laughter in the background.
