'Bake Off' fans excited as Channel 4 unveils series 12 teaser

Bake Off fans could barely contain their excitement as the teaser for the new series dropped.

The clip shared on social media showed the camera panning through some dense trees.

As the leaves thin out, the well-known theme tune of the Channel 4 show plays and the camera moves down towards the famous Bake Off tent.

“Loaf is in the air... The Great British Bake Off. Coming Soon,” said the post.

The clip was also shared on Instagram by Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood, who wrote: “We’re back...!”

He also posted a picture of himself alongside fellow judge Prue Leith and hosts Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding, with all of them holding some tasty looking bakes.

Fans were thrilled to hear the 12th season of the popular programme is on its way.

“The world needs this,” one person posted on Twitter, while another agreed: “We needed this, someone's here for us, listening, watching out for us.”

“Yes!!!!! I am so ready to adopt and love all these talented and new bakers for the next 12 weeks,” said another.

“COVID making me so ill I’m crying cause Bake Off is back soon,” posted another fan.

“The fact that both Strictly and Bake Off are back soon is making my soul happy,” said another.

Rahul Mandal, who won the baking competition in 2018, was among those to express his excitement at the prospect of the new series.

“My heart is running so fast!!!” he wrote on Instagram. “It still gives me goosebumps... can’t wait!!”

The 11th series of the show concluded in November 2020, with student Peter Sawkins being crowned the winner.
