Barbara Streisand's dogs and the celebrity pets with the highest carbon footprint

Barbra Streisand flew her three beloved dogs on a 10,000 mile round trip to watch her perform in London’a Hyde Park last weekend.

The 77-year-old singer brought curly-haired Coton de Tulears Miss Scarlet, Miss Violet and Fanny on stage briefly and they watched her concert from the wings.

Streisand revealed last year she had Scarlet and Violet cloned cells taken from her beloved pooch Samantha, who died in 2017.

The Woman In Love singer regularly tours North America and Europe and her pet pups are almost always by her side.

But Scarlet, Violet and Fanny are certainly not in a minority when it comes to celebrity pets who are frequent fliers.

Taylor Swift’s cats Olivia, Meredith and Benjamin

The Shake It Off singer is a self-proclaimed cat lady and her feline friends tour the world with her. Olivia Benson, Meredith Grey and Benjamin Button have clocked up multiple air miles and are carried around in their own tailor-made cat baskets.

When Johnny Depp’s ex-wife illegally snuck her dogs into Australia on a private jet in 2015 without declaring them to border control officials - she got caught. Heard pled guilty and was given a fine of $1,000. Both she and Depp were forced to record an apology video, highlighting the importance of quarantine rules.

Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette

The late fashion designer’s pussy cat has lived a lavish lifestyle - waited on by two personal maids, eating caviar at the table from designer plates and travelling between Paris, Milan, New York and London on private jets. And that isn’t like to change since Lagerfeld died earlier this year - as Choupette is reportedly heir to his estimated $300 million fortune.

Despite her own near-death experiences with air travel the X-Men star takes her best friend Pippi on flights all the time - both private and commercial. But if you spot them at an airport - don’t get too close! Lawrence once snapped at a paparazzo who tried to pet Pippi at LAX, telling them “Don’t touch my dog you f***ing loser.”

Lady Gaga’s French bulldogs

Lady Gaga has three French Bulldogs - Koji, Asia and Gustavo. The road can be a lonely place when you’re on tour, but Lady Gaga always has a pet pooch to cuddle up to.

The Star Wars actress and her dog Gary were devoted to one another and couldn’t bear to be parted. Since Fisher’s death in December 2016 Gary has often paid tribute to her through his own Instagram account. In February this year, Gary announced he was putting jet set lifestyle behind him and retiring to Florida.

Long before pet passports existed and animals on aeroplanes became mainstream, the late Michael Jackson took his beloved pet chimpanzee Bubbles on his Bad world tour with him. Although strict quarantine laws prevented Bubbles from entering Sweden or the UK, he did go to Japan where he shared a hotel room, and a cup of green tea, with his star owner.

Paris Hilton’s Chihuahua Tinkerbell

The original accessory pet, reality star and It Girl Hilton was almost never seen without her dinky dog Tinkerbell during the height of her fame. Tinkerbell often travelled in her handbag and sat on her lap on fashion show front rows. Hilton came under fire for leaving Tinkerbell at home as she got older and in 2014 bought herself a new lapdog. Tinkerbell died in 2015 at the age of 14. RIP.

The Mamma Mia star met Australian Shepherd Finn when she worked on TV show Big Love and decided to adopt him. Now they do everything together - including several magazine photoshoots. Seyfried is said to have made allowing Finn on set a condition in her contract when making movies.

Sharon Osbourne loves her dogs and has had many over the years. When she was working on The X Factor in 2016 Osbourne couldn’t travel to the UK with out Pomeranians Bella and Rocky, even though she flew back and forth between continents regularly. She is said to get around the strict rules on having animals on planes by claiming her dogs are “emotional support animals”, and that she can not fly without them. And she splashes out on first class tickets so they can sit with her on board.
