She's one of the few stars to have Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards to her name (on top of being nominated for a Grammy 46 times). And if her long list of accolades wasn't enough, Barbra Streisand has also appeared in 19 films and released 72 albums.

But now, in her eighth decade, the legendary entertainer has opened up about her desire to have more fun, revealing that she hasn't always had much fun in her life.

The actress and singer spoke to BBC Breakfast, to mark the release of her much-anticipated memoir, My Name is Barbra.

"I want to live life. I want to get in my husband’s truck and just wander, go round, hopefully with the children somewhere near us when they come over," she told BBC Breakfast. "They love playing with the dogs, we have fun."

Yet, despite having a dazzling career spanning six decades under the spotlight, Barbra also revealed: "I haven’t had much fun in my life, tell you the truth, and I want to have more fun."

In her memoir, Barbra recounts her life story in her own words, giving readers an exciting glimpse into her life behind the scenes, as she takes fans on a journey from her childhood in Brooklyn, New York, to her breakout performance in hit musical, Funny Girl and beyond.

As well as giving the inside scoop on her career, friendships, political advocacy and marriage to actor, James Brolin, Barbra peppers her book with some of life's small, funny moments.

In one excerpt, she recalls the moment she personally asked Tim Cook - the CEO of tech firm, Apple - to re-jig Apple's built-in digital assistant, Siri, after she realised it was mispronouncing her surname.

Telling the BBC about the lightbulb moment, Barbra said: "My name isn’t spelled with a Z. It’s Strei-sand, like sand on the beach. How simple can you get?

"I decided 'How do I change this?' I like solving problems.

"I figured I better call the head of Apple, Tim Cook, and he had Siri change the pronunciation of my name to be correct. That’s one perk of fame!"
