Bargain Hunt cancelled as beloved BBC show taken off air in schedule shake-up

Bargain Hunt has been taken off air today in a major schedule shake-up. The BBC One hit show usually airs on weekdays at 12.15pm however it has been pulled to make way for Wimbledon coverage.

Monday, July 1 marks day one of Wimbledon 2024 and the tennis coverage will air between 2pm and 6pm on BBC One. It also means that another daytime favourite, Escape To The Country, will be missing from its usual slot at 3pm.

But Bargain Hunt fans won't go without for too long and they will be pleased to know that the show will be back in its usual slot on Thursday, July 4.

A synopsis for Thursday’s episode reads: “Charlie Ross hosts as two teams set out to bag bargains at Detling Antiques Fair in Kent. Steph Connell's duo take a while to buy anything, while John Cameron's pair race off to a two-nil lead, but who will pocket the profits at the auction? Charlie monitors event and also heads to nearby Sittingbourne to get hands-on restoring some valuable and glamorous lighting.”

The early evening BBC schedule is also disrupted this week with EastEnders moving to different timeslots and The One Show being cancelled all week to make way for tennis and the continuing Euro 2024 coverage as well as the general election. The show hosted by Alex Jones, Jermaine Jenas and Roman Kemp will return on Monday, July 8.
